Trigonostigma heteromorpha – Harlequin Rasbora

Distribution

The harlequin rasbora is fairly widely distributed in the peat swamp forests of Peninsular Malaysia.  It is found in the states of Selangor, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, and Johor.

It is also found across the border to the North in Southern Thailand and to the South in Nee Soon Swamp, one of the last remaining pockets of pristine freshwater forest swamp in Singapore.  In addition, the fish also occurs in the Greater Sunda Islands in Sumatra, Indonesia.
